  2. A Cure for Toothache.

    This was quite common amongst the old people about thirty years ago. The tradition is that Our Lord found St Peter weeping and moaning from the pain of toothache and that he cured him of it. Ever after if a person kept the following prayer either in memory or writing he would never suffer from toothache
    Prayer
    As St Peter sat on a marble stone
    Jesus came to him alone
    Peter, who do thou weepest?
    Oh Jesus, Master, it is the the toothache
    Rise up Peter and heeled thou shalt be
