    scattered some corn under it. When the bird would go in they they would pull the string and the stick would pull away and the riddle would fall and the bird would be captured.
    They made tops from thread-spools and cut them in two. They would cut it into a triangle shape. Then they would put a thin stick down the hole in the top and then it would spin. They made guns from alder branches about a foot long and peeling the inside out of it. The they would peal a thin rod which they called the ramrod. Then they would put a piece of paper in the top of the stick with the hole in it and one in the bottom of it. Then they would push the bottom one with the ramrod and the pressure between the two would drive the top one out.
