    place. Toll is not paid on cattle sold but when the cattle are bought they are put in a yard and the owner of the yard gets three pence per head. When a animal is sold luck - money is given. This is called a luck penny. It is not calculated but whatever the seller likes to give he can give.
    When an animal is sold the parties show their agreement by shaking hands.
    When animals are sold the men clip some hair off the horses and sometimes stamp their hooves. Keel is for marking cattle and sheep but sometimes they are clipped like horses. When a horse is sold the halter or rope is given with the horse.
