    You can go down about forty steps and then you can get no farther for the water stops you from going. The Mc Mahon's son and daugher Ann and Eoin when they saw their Castle attacked packed all the gold and silver along with the family plate and jewels in two large wine hogsheads and rolled them down into the cellar in front of them and escaped the fate of their father by swimming across the lake to an Island which to this day is called Annyeoin. It is on the south - east end of Muckno lake. Lord Blayney Baron of Blayney searched for long and long to try to recover the treasure but failed. He paid three men to go down into the cellar but they would not go farther than the water. He also tried grappling iron in the lake where this cellar tunnell ends. There are two ends to it one is said to face Annyeoin. So far the treasure has not been recovered by anybody. There
