- In the pleasant Summer season one Sunday afternoon
From a rural habitation on the verge of Magheracloone
O'er meadows and green sloping hills I leisurely did roam And in a short time I drew near the Mountain of GreaghloneThe mountain is a lovely place when in the summer time
The larch, the oak and hazel are blooming in their prime
And underneath the grass so green the shamrock fair has grown
To decorate in graceful garb the mountain of GreaghloneI had not far proceeded till again I there delayed
To see the hares and rabbits play along the sylvan glade They seemed quite unconcerned there no terrors to them known as they ran 'mong trees and bushes on the Mountain of Greaghlone
With hastening steps I now advanced right to the top so high
A group of lads and lasses gay came gently tipping by
Some walked together hand in hand while others walked alone.
They seemed enjoying pleasure on the Mountain of Greaghlone(continues on next page)- Informant
