    quick demand for them, or on fair's day they go to the farmers, or meet the farmers at the crossroads coming home from the fair and buy horses and cattle from them.
    When the bargain is made they clasp hands, and spit on the money they give. Then they mark the animal they buy by cutting a strip of hair off his side to show they are bought. They put a halter or bit of rope round his head to bring luck to the animals.

  2. 1. If you leave the chairs around the fire when you are going to bed it will bring you bad luck.
    2. If you find a horse-shoe on the road it will bring you good luck.
    3. If the right side of your nose is itchy it is a sign it is a sign someone is talking good about you.
    4. If the left side of your nose is itchy it is a sign someone is talking bad about you.
