the same manner as I have related for the curing of boils is supposed to cure the whooping cough.
Nettles are sometimes given as food to young turkeys and some believe that they are the best food, which can be obtained for them.
They are also given to pigs. When cooking these nettles the leaves are usually cut off and the stems are not boiled.
"Dock" and "Feuarain" are given to pigs as food in the summer.
Nettles are also used for a backache.
They are prepared in the following manner. First of all the leaves are pulled off the stems. They are then pounded into a plaster and placed between two pieces of Muslin. This is then placed on the effected part and it is sometimes known to prove very effective.
