Town fairs are held in a field beside the town called a fair green. It is specially set apart for that purpose. Toll is paid when cattle are sold. The toll is paid to the Committee for the support of the fair-green. A few pennies is all that is paid.
Luck money is given to the person who buys the animal by the person who sells it. It goes according to the price of the animal sold.
