    a needle to do his wash. He would be sitting on his hunkers on a high seal in front of the window working with his needle. Nowadays they use a sewing machine because it does the work much quicker.
    Skirts were made in the homes long ago. The cloth which they used was bought in the shop. Linen shirts were bought also. Socks and stockings were knitted locally from the wool which was manufactured in the home. There are two spinning wheels in the district. Those are not in use. Green is worn on St Patrick's Day. Yellow clothes are worn after Easter. Black clothes are worn at the death of a relative.
    The tailors use a thimble, scissors and spools. The flax which is used for making clothes is grown in other countries which are hotter and it is
