  1. St. James' Well (see back of Page)
Now far away from the dear old lane
    In exile here I roam,
Across the waters wild and wide,
    Far from my native home.
The dear old scenes of long ago
    I do remember well
My youthful days are childhood play
    Around St. James' Well.
    ii
I long to ramble there once more
    And meet with comrades true,
And view again the dear scenes
    Where days of childhood flew.
And for one glance at the dear old school!
No tongue or pen can tell
How I revered that school house dear
    At Sweet St. James' Well.
    iii
To that dear old school in former days
I've heard the old folk say -
Good people came from far and near
    Upon St. James' Day.
