When the widow saw that her son was safe she said, "Thanks be to God I have my son" and the hangman said - "If there is not a rope in Sligo to hang him," and he was put up the second time and hanged. The second man was also hanged. The maid who swore against them never had a day's luck. Every drink she put to her head was full of creepers.
