    after dark is supposed to bring bad luck on the house. Another version of this is that if the water is clean it is alright, but if dirty "the good people" are offended and will probably retaliate in some way.
    To have three lights in a house is supposed to bring about a death in the house inside a year.
    To cut a tree standing by itself is supposed to bring bad luck on the cutter.
    To cut a whitethorn tree is unlucky.
    To bring in the whitethorn blossoms is considered very unlucky.
    To break a mirror is considered very unlucky and brings seven years bad luck.
    To break glass of any description is also unlucky.
    A table which creaks or makes noises when nobody is near it or when there is nothing resting upon it is a bad omen. It means death is near
