    Do dheineadh na daoine an cris seo Lá 'le Bhrighid in onóir dí
    Gach rud a bhíodh ar Bhríghid bhíodh sé déanta de thuighe breágh buidhe. Nuair a bhí Heróid ag marbhú na leanbaí, bhí sé ag faire ar an Maighdean Muire, chun an leanbh Íosa a mharbhú. Sí Brighid beannuighthe a saor an uair sin é. Dhéin sí cluith de thuighe agus hata mór árd. Chuir sí coinnle ar lasadh na bárr. Do cheap gach aoinne gur ait a bhí sí agus leanaig gach aoinne í. Is mar sin a shaor sí é.
