  1. Tadhg Dall Ó h-Uigín
    many years ago there lived a great poet named Tadhg Dall Ó h-Uigín whose poetry was so famous that it has been traced up from generations back. it was never righly known where he was born but the latest history we can find of him is that he lived part of his life in the townland of Cloongoonagh in a place called Shimalare situated to the back of our present dwelling house and which consists only of about an acre of land. Some years ago my grandfather was digging in the little portion and found the paving stones of a street which shows us that there must have been a house there. We cannot say for certain whether we are descendants of Tadhg Dall or not but the only proof we have is that my granduncle was such a
