  1. There are many wonderful things to be seen in Masshill. Near our house is the Giant's Grave. It is situated in "Carraig Wood on the side of the mountain known as "Tuighe Buidhe" to the left of the road leading to Dromore West. It is said that a pot of gold is buried with him under the great flag which marks the grave. A short distance away is the Giant's Well from which he drank every day.
    Many people have tried to lift the flag but could not stir it.

    This account was given by Michael Laying and was related to him by his father, also Michael Layng of Masshill, Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo. Age- 50, farmer, was born and reared in this place.
