    Then came the griddles for baking, and this cake was as they say white-washed - that is meal mixed with flour. Then a great change began to take place in the food. People mixed the flour and meal together and made very good bread. About fifty years ago tea began to be used by some people, but the poor classes had to be satisfied with a little at Christmas or Easter.
