  1. The following are a list of customs observed in this locality.
    1. When a corpse is in a house the ashes or any other sweeping are not thrown out and the wag-o'-the wall is stopped.
    2. On May morning no one wants to be the first to put up smoke or to go to the spring well.
    3. When a woman is leaving a baby alone in a house she puts the tongs across the cradle for fear the fairies would take the child and leave a "die annagh" in its When a child is always crying and not thriving it is supposed to be a "die-annagh" that was left in the place of a good child.
