  1. There is a well out the "Crooked Lanes" and this is how it came to be there. The farm that Mr. B. Johnston has now once belonged to a sheriff who lived in Dublin. Once! when he was at home on holidays he noticed his land all covered over with passes going up to the well. One day he made up his mind to stop it, and he went up to the well and started to throw stones into it but the water would not move. Next he bored a hole in it
