    and evicted him. He was then to go and live on a beautiful island in the middle of a lake that bordered his land.
    There he built a little hut and defied Lord Leitrim put him out of it. This talk made the landlord very angry and by false measurements he proved the island belonged to him.
    McCrann was forced to leave the island and go and beg his way through the country.
    Lord Leitrim summoned him to court. A clever man by the name of Patrick Reynolds, Corduff, Dromod, Co Leitrim, wrote a letter in the Lord Lieutenant's name asking the judge to dismiss the court and restore the land to McCrann.
