  1. There is a large tree in our garden and every morning in the winter time when food is scarce in the fields the crows gather in it. When the food is thrown to the hens and nobody about they come down and pick with the hens. If anyone, opened the door or tips the windows they fly immediately on to the wall or to the roofs of the outhouses. If they are not in the tree they are nearby and seem to know when to come.
