In a short time the landlord gave back the land to the tenants. The forces of the crowd tried to find out who the diggers were but the secret never leaked out. People came from all parts of the country to view this land and were very much amazed at the work that had been executed.
People came from all places, even as far distant as Cork and Dublin. The land on which this event took place is to the present day called "The Digging"
