“There is a well in Gubacreeny called Saint Marshal's well.”
There is a well in Gubacreeny called Saint Marshal's well. It cures cattle of the red water. When the people go for the cure they have to make a station to get the cure. There is a heap of pebbles at the well and each time you go round you throw a stone on the heap. The Prayers to say are five Hail Marys. You go round the well three times. Then at the finish you say a rosary on your beads. When the well is dry use the clay. There is also a cure for Toothache in the well. There are two wells in Wardhouse one called Tobar a bearraó and the other called Tobar Paóraug one is for curing bodily ailments and the other for spirit-(continues on next page)
