    I got these of my mother Mrs Mullody Ballygar Co Galway.
    1) If you milk another persons cow before sunrise on may morning you will have plenty of milk and butter for the year.
    2) If you put a red coal under the churn and a small piece of salt on the lid it will keep away the witches
    3) When a person is going out to get married she should put a grain of salt in one of her stockings and will have good luck for the year
    4)They say it is not right for a woman to get married on Saturday. When getting married the bride should wear "something old something new something old and something blue.
    5) They say people should get married on "Monday for health "Tuesday for wealth Wednesday the best day of all Thursday for losses Friday for crosses.
    6)It is lucky to change into a new house on Friday It is unlucky to bring a cat into a new house.
    7) It is not right to cut a child's nails unless he or she is a year old.
    8)If a cock crows in the middle of the night it is a sign of death
    If you look in the mirror late at night you will see the devil
