  1. Poteen is not made in Fanad now but long ago it was made frequently. Up on the side of Knockalla is an old still house which is as good as ever nearly yet. It is about a mile from, Warden Ballyshannagh and just beside it is the Lough Swilly. Above the still house is big rocks which completely hides the house from view. The only way of getting to the still house is by an old pad which mountain sheep have made,
    The remains of it is still to be seen very plainly
    Poteen was made in this place in the time of the Revinue men about ninety years ago.
