to have rain before night. (2) When floors and walls drip it is a sign of rain. (3) When wild geese leave the lowlands and go to the mountains or to a mountain lake rain ensues. (4) In the West of Donegal is a mountain known as Muckish. When a change of weather with rain is approaching it seems several miles nearer. (5) When dust blows along the road in the whirlwinds it is a sign of rain. (6) A place on the Atlantic coast known as Fanny's Bay is covered with a heavy black mist when very hot weather is approaching. (7) An insect called the cricket sings or chirps for several hours without stopping when a change of weather with rain is approaching. (8) When a fire throws out unusual heat it is a sign of stormy weather.
