When the robin sits in the top branch of a tree in the morning it is the sure sign of a fine day. 5. When the sound of a bell or train can be heard from a farther distance than usual it is a sign of frost. 6. There are insects known as midges which accumulate in large numbers. When rain is coming in the summer these insects rise from the ground in great numbers and cause much annoyance with their bites. 7. When donkeys bray more than usual and answer each other it is a sure sign if rain.
