  1. The Rattling Coves are situated about three miles from mt.charles on the sea shore. They go inland for about a mile. They were the abode of a giant who hid his gold there. In the Coves there are supposed to be the remains of the people he had killed and eaten. A large flag stone inside the entrance is supposed to be his bed. If stones are thrown into the entrance they are heard rattling for a long time as they roll down the floor of the Coves.
