    nearest rivals. Songs are sung and the children dance around the fire until midnight.
    The fire is scattered and our cattle are driven through it each one as he or she drives praying for a blessing on them and on their produce for the next twelve months.
    Each person then takes with him a piece of wood which has not been completely consumed by the fire, and, with this in hand, makes a circuit of all his crops, saying the Rosary during the time, because it is believed this will bring luck on the crops.
