    Part of the main road from Dundalk to Castleblayney running through bogland in the townland of Clonalig Co. Armagh was re-constructed in 1913 or 1914. Whin bushes were used int he reconstruction of the road foundation and, I believe, this is the last case of the olden methods of road-construction carried out in South Monaghan.
