  1. Cure for Measles
    The local cure for measles was saffron. This was a kind of powder.I t was bought in small packets and taken in a drink.
    Cure for Headache
    The cure for headache was herbs. These were picked and boiled and taken by the patient.
    Cure for Sore Throat
    The cure for a sore throat was “fotrom”. This was got by walls or ditches. A bunch of it was picked and put up on a shelf and it was said that it should not (take) touch the ground once you would pick it at any time of the year you would have a sore throat you could take it down and boil it with milk and drink the milk.
    Cure for pain in the back
    The cure for pain in the back was squitch grass. This was got growing in stubbles. A stubble is a field where wheat or oats was growing. It was dug and washed and boiled with milk and taken.
