    During the season of Shrove rich farmers go around making matches for their daughters.
    Shrove starts after Christmas and the people enjoy making matches for their daughters.

  3. Michaelmas Day falls on the 29th of September. People kill geese a few days before Michaelmas and eat them. These are called Michaelmas geese.
