- Rope-making.Sedges were cut and saved (like hay).
A wisp was then put into the twister and one person, usually a little boy twisted, while a man added the sedges.
Eventually a very strong rope was made. It was used to tie ricks of hay or corn.
- The handle was made of any kind of a rod, while the lash was made from the roots of trees. The roots were about two and half feet long and were very flexible. The lash was tied to the handle by means of a twine.
