- Once there was a farmer who had a young son. Once this young child was taken away by the fairies. The fairies left another child in its place. When the farmer would go out the child would sit up in the cradle and pull a flute from under the pillow. Once he pulled the flute from under the pillow and asked the farmers wife could she play. When the woman heard this she nearly fainted. "Ah" he said sit down and have sense and listen to the music. Then he started to play. When he had finished he said "if you tell your husband you will never have luck. When the fairy was saying this he heard a footstep.(continues on next page)
