    The coffins were not kept in the shops as at present. The people would buy boards and get a local carpenter to make the coffin. In mountainy districts the people would carry the coffin on sticks. They had special places fixed on the route where they would rest the coffin. When the grave would be finished the relatives of the dead person would walk round three times.
