    To resign to such a cowardly dog
    It's a thing I never will do
    For I will fight with all my might

    Nine rounds the horse policeman fired
    until a deadly ball
    lodged in the heart of Donohoe
    which caused him to fall.
    As he closed his mournful eyes
    to this world he bid adieu
    saying Christians all both big and small
    pray for Jack Donohoe.
