    In former times the people did not wear shoes until they were twenty years of age. The men wore clogs. The clogs were made in the clog factory. The clog factory was at the quay of Westport. There are not many people around this district who do not wear shoes. There are two people who do not wear any shoes. Mrs Ann OMalley Kilsallagh never wore any shoes. Owen Fergus Mullagh never wore a shoe. In this locality children go barefooted from the first day of June to the first day of November. Some of them that cannot afford to but shoes go barefooted all the year round. Usually people
