  1. Long ago people used not to wear shoes until they would be middling old. Some of them wouldn't buy a pair of shoes until they would be going to England. It is in England that they would buy their second pair of shoes. Fairly rich children used to wear shoes at five or six years. In summer nobody wore shoes. There are a few people that don't wear shoes but very seldom. Myria Morrison doesn't wear shoes, Myria Gibney doesn't wear shoes about the house but she wears them when she goes away from the house.
