  1. The houses in olden times were made of stones, mortor or dab. Dab was yellow clay which was found in wet land.
    There was no houses only thatched ones in the district long ago. The old houses had a bed in the kitchen it was placed in the corner and it was called the "hag."
    There was a chimney in the middle of the house. It was made of sticks and dab. Some houses had it at the gable wall. The people heard talk of the fire being made in the centre of the floor with a hole in the roof for the smoke to go through. People
