  1. My father usually sows half an acre of potatoes. Potatoes are sown in ridges and drills which are prepared in Springtime.
    Ridges.
    In lea-land potatoes are usually sown in ridges. In order to make the ridges the soil is first "scored". This is done by raising "Fillibíns" with the plough.
    A space of about three feet is left between the Fillibíns. This is the width of the
