On the 14th of June as you may understand.
It was the day that young Pat Dolan proposed to fence his land
The notice it was given to the neighbours one and all.
And early the next morning they assembled to the call.
From Altnadarragh to Altcrock they assembled to a man
Young and old from Altataskin and scores of boys from Glan
Saying we'll erect a fence my boys no beast will ever cross
With spade in hand to dig the land came the Reilly's from the Cross.
Then came on march the Commas Boys like soldiers to the Queen
And also the Sralahan Boys a credit to be seen
