One time a man in North Clare dreamt that there was gold hidden in Thomond Bridge. After much hesitation he decided to seek for it, and proceeded to Thomond Bridge. A farmer bringing hay to the Market at Limerick noticed a stranger walking up and down along Thomond Bridge, and being curious to know his business inquired of him what he was doing there. The man told him that he dreamt that there was gold hidden in the bridge, and that he had come to discover it. "Oh" said the farmer "I dreamt that there was gold hidden in Slackboolagh under a large whitethorn bush convenient to a little stream, where it flowed beside a high deerpark wall."
