94 were made by a family named Odlum of Barrack Street. The best oaten straw was collected and twisted into ropes and made in a circle. They were fastened together by fresh cut briar. The nails were made by a family named Power. They were made from wire that was heated and the nailers finished the hot wire into small nails. This was all done by hand work.
