Once upon a time there lived a man near our school. He was married and had one son. They both were very fond of this child. One morning the man of the house went out work in the field and his wife went to the well leaving the child asleep in the cradle. When she came back she looked in the cradle to see was the child asleep all the time but instead of her own child there lay in the cradle an old withered man. She looked every place to see would she get her own child but she could not see it. She began to cry and ran to the field to her husband and told him her story about the child being gone out of the cradle and an old withered man in his place. Her husband ran to the house as quickly as he could. Both looked again for the child but could not get him so one night when the man was coming home from his ceilidhe he saw a forth near by and he heard singing going on. He leaped in across the ditch and there he saw fairies dancing in a ring. He looked in again and there he saw a child much like his own.Matt Smyth
