The stage-coach that used to go drawn by horses from Dublin to Galway, was once bringing a box of gold to a bank, in Galway. They changed horses in Kinnegad and while they were changing a couple of lads saw the box, and cut the straps, thinking that the box would fall off when the coach would move outside the town.
