They ate potatoes with butter milk over them. The oaten bread is made with water and oaten meal and a grain of salt. The people mixed the water with the oaten meal until it became a paste. Then they add the salt and they mix it again. When they have that done they put it on the griddle which is placed over the fire. The people went out to shoot deer, rabbits and other animals with bow and arrows. Sometimes people killed the young calves and eat them.
