There are many herbs growing on my farm. The most plentiful are chicken weed, sow thistle, pressaugh and dandelion. the chicken weed does not grow high. There are stems out of it which join one weed to another. These stems are red in colour. The leaves of the sow thistle are wider. On each leaf there are thorns like the thorns of a thistle. The pressaugh weed is high and has a yellow flower on it. It spreads very quickly. The dandelion has large green leaves and has a yellow flower. The leaves are used as food for young turkeys. The dandelion is cut up into small pieces and mixed with meal then it is given to the turkeys to eat. There are many weeds but not so plentiful on the farm. The dock weed has many large leaves. The juices of its stems is used to take away the sting of a nettle. The nettle is tall and has many small leaves. If you touch them they would sting you.Jo Harrington
