A tailor who lived in the south-west of the parish of Glantane and who used to go from house to house to work when required, was a noted practical joker. One Friday when working at a farmer's house he was displeased as he did not get egg for dinner. There was a good hatching in a dark corner of the kitchen. There was nobody in the house but the tailor, farmer's wife and her three years old son. When the lady of the house was engaged at some business in the yard the goose took a notion to go for a walk. The tailor said to the child that unless he sat on the eggs and kept them warm while the goose was out, there would be no goslings. The child took the place of the goose in the nest. Soon afterwards his mother returned and was astonished when she saw where the boy was. When she pulled him out of the nest she found that several of the eggs wereStephywalsh
