Care of Our Farm Animals. The farm animals we keep are:- the cows, the sheep, the horse, the donkey, and the pig. With these we have the eat and dog for domestic animals. When we are driving out cows out of the field we say "How! How!" Our cow-house is large and roomy. The walls are about ten feet high. The cows are tied to the manger. This is a long pole held up by a number of stakes. It is about a foot up from the ground. We tie our cows by the neck with a cow-chain. This is an iron chain. These are not home-made but were bought in a shop. When a cow is after calving a red piece of cloth is tied to the bushy part of her tail in some parts of this district. We do not know what is the explanation of this. To burn the hair off a cow's udder a blessed candle is used and any other candle is good.Sarah Goldberg
