Buying and Selling At the present day shops are more numerous than they were long ago. the people had to go to the nearest town to purchase their goods. After Mass the people bought some shop goods as flour, meal whiskey and stout. This custom is still practised. Sometimes people paid in cash for their goods. Sometimes people exchanged their goods for labour, or for other goods. There were many words connected with buying buying and selling such as "tick" "boot" "cash" and "change".
