One time there lived a poor man, who had three sons. When he was dying he had nothing to give them but a big tree. To the first he gave what was crooked and straight, to the second he gave what was rotten and round, and to the third he gave what was under the ground. When he was dead neither of his sons owned the tree. So they went to a solicitor to decide the case. The solicitor said, "Which ever of you is the smartest will get the tree.
